What is measured, and when it pays.

Risk covered: Operational loss from elevated avalanche danger or a confirmed avalanche event.
Parametric trigger: EAWS 1-5 regional avalanche danger level.
Payout: Predefined payout compensating the loss, sized on an 11-tier trigger scale.
Index resolution: Administrative zone, daily
Data and model: Power-law size-frequency distribution (McClung & Schaerer avalanche size classification).
