For risk carriersA parametric book, underwritten with discipline.

Helios Re is an MGA: we underwrite parametric risks on capacity provided by insurers and reinsurers, our risk carriers. You back a diversified book, with losses capped by contract and settled on independent data.

Why parametric risk

Known limits, objective claims, real diversification.

Maximum loss known at binding

Every contract has a fixed limit and a payout scale on a published index. The worst case is written down before the risk is accepted.

No loss adjustment

Payouts follow independent data sources named in the contract: no adjusters, no disputes over the amount, low claims-handling cost.

Diversification across 40 perils

Nine risk families, from rainfall and heat to cyber outages and epidemics, with correlation to the book checked before each binding.

Priced from the data

Each risk is priced from the index history at the insured location, not from the market cycle.

The range

Nine risk families, one underwriting standard.

The same pricing engine, guidelines and review cycle apply to every product, whatever the peril.

How the book is controlled

Every risk goes through the same four checks.

  1. 01

    Guidelines

Products, limits, territories and pricing rules agreed with you, and applied to every quote.

  2. 02

    Pricing and peer review

Priced from the index history at the insured location, then reviewed by a second underwriter before binding.

  3. 03

    Accumulation

Exposure aggregated by peril and by region, and correlation with the book checked before a new risk is accepted.

  4. 04

    Recurring review

The whole book goes through the Helios 5Re cycle: review, reassess, refine, report, react.

Capacity portal

Your share of the book, contract by contract.

Each risk carrier gets a personal sign-in to HeliosRate, scoped to the risks their capacity supports: the same data our underwriters work from, not a separate report.

For risk carriers

Capacity portal

Your share of the Helios Re book: allocations, exposure and claims.

  • Every contract your capacity supports, with your share
  • Aggregate exposure by peril and by region
  • Triggered events and payouts on the risks you back

Risk carrier questions

How the partnership works.

How does capacity work with an MGA?

You delegate underwriting authority to Helios Re within guidelines agreed with you: products, limits, territories and pricing rules. Helios Re underwrites within them and reports every risk bound on your capacity.

What is the maximum loss on a contract?

The limit written in the contract. A parametric payout follows the payout scale agreed at binding and can never exceed that limit.

How is accumulation managed?

Exposure is aggregated by peril and by region in HeliosRate, and correlation with the existing book is checked before a new risk is bound.

What do I see in the capacity portal?

The contracts your capacity supports and your share of each, aggregate exposure by peril and region, and the triggered events and payouts on the risks you back.
